Stand for Democracy

On Sunday, the Israeli Cabinet will vote on the anti-NGO bill designed by Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked and other leaders of the settler Jewish Home and Likud parties. While the pretext for this bill is greater "transparency," what it really does is create a series of new hoops that organizations that criticize Israeli government policy must now jump through or face huge fines.

The stakes are bigger than one bill. It's about upholding democratic values and protecting the ability of Israeli human rights groups to voice dissent.

Israelis are mobilizing against this bill, and they are telling us that Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon can stop this bill and is most likely to pay attention to the concerns of individuals who care about Israel from around the globe. Now is the time to for us to speak out.
